Stamford Nonprofit Hosting 19th Annual “Walk for Independence” Next Weekend
Organization Supports People With Disabilities and Their Families
STAMFORD — A nonprofit organization in the city will once again host a walk around a popular park in support of people with disabilities.
On Saturday, April 26, ARI of Connecticut will convene its annual “Walk for Independence” at Cove Island Park. Starting at 10:00 am, participants will walk through the park with fellow attendees while enjoying music, food, and other offerings.
At this year’s edition of the event, the Stamford Police Department and Stamford Police Association will both be recognized for their involvement with ARI of Connecticut for more than seven decades. Their supportive roles have included leading the “Walk for Independence” each year and sponsoring ARI’s annual Holiday Party.
“This year we expect another fun-filled event including a warm-up by the Dance with El team, clowns, tattoo tent, food and much more,” ARI of Connecticut’s website states. “Tee shirts will once again be given to those donating/raising over $50 with additional tee shirts for $25 each.”
Details can be found on the organization’s website here. For additional information or if assistance is needed, individuals can contact ARI of Connecticut’s Associate Director of Development & Program Support Gerard Gasparino at gasparinog@arict.org or (203) 324-9258, ext. 3023.
